Organization
Tibet Action Institute’s global, dynamic team of campaigners and tech experts have over 15 years of experience in promoting human rights through educational programs, training and cutting-edge tech development for Tibetans and other communities who are at the frontline of cyberattacks.
Position
Tibet Action Institute will provide an opportunity for two (2) individuals to join our Digital Security Fellowship program, a project in collaboration with the National Democratic Institute (NDI-India).

Fellowship

Digital Security Fellows will have the unique opportunity to work with a high-performing team and acquire firsthand experience, contributing to the Tibetan movement through technology and advocacy.

Fellows will work closely with Tibet Action Institute’s Digital Security Ambassadors (DSA) and gain familiarity with digital security threats faced by Tibetans inside Tibet and Tibetans in the diaspora.

Fellows will have the opportunity to work with various stakeholders through TibCERT (Tibetan Computer Emergency Readiness Team) and gain firsthand experience of providing support/solutions regarding issues related to digital security. This involvement will provide valuable insight into how Tibet Action Institute, as a digital security organization, handles an incident response for TibCERT stakeholders.

Fellows will have the opportunity to actively participate in various other Tibet Action Institute programs and projects, thereby enhancing their knowledge of the Tibetan movement as a whole in addition to digital security understanding.

Fellows will receive guidance and mentorship from the Tibet Action Institute Team.
The Digital Security Fellowship program position is based in Dharamshala, India.
Qualifications

Currently pursuing or possessing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Application, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.

Proficient in fundamental cybersecurity concepts and principles.

Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Capable of quick learning and adapting to new technologies.
Compensation & Perks
The Digital Security Fellowship program will run from February 2024 to July 2024 and is entirely funded by NDI. Successful candidates for this position will be awarded a monthly stipend of 20,000 INR as well as a laptop provided by NDI, for the entire duration of the program.
