New People Power Series: Beijing Smog Comic

In honor of yesterday’s anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre and all the activists who struggled for rights and democracy in China then and now, we are launching a new “People Power” series this week to celebrate and learn from grassroots campaign victories in China and around the world.

Read and share the new comic “Beijing Smog,” which tells the story of how public pressure forced Chinese officials to begin accurate reporting of Beijing’s dangerous air pollution.

“With so many thousands speaking out, including celebrities, the government couldn’t just make this disappear and keep telling us lies.”
